This piece is currently in progress at the shop. Its a cold bent contemporary sculpture constructed with blind welds
measuring 40”h x 18”w x 12”d. When I started, my goal was to convey a human form and story with as few lines as
possible. Titled “Nurture”, this piece represents a woman focused intently on an infant in her arms. In the first picture, the
basic form and construction is complete. In the second, the “infant” has been added and adjustments to the woman’s
head angle and arm curve make the two interact more intimately. An acid soak has cleaned all surfaces and a protective
coat of oil will stabilize the piece until the finishing patina is selected and applied.

over 100 years old and I can’t wait to put it to work. A
huge Thank You to my friend Buddy for all his help in
getting this 1,800 lb toy to the forge.

Magnet Experiment

each of the twelve 1/16” cables suspend
themselves while only attached at one point. A
steel base will complete the work.
